W.K.Y.P.
I am Wahyu Kiky Yudha Prasetya, known as W.K.Y.P., an interdisciplinary artist from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. My practice moves between music, performance, and visual art, exploring the intersection of ritual, sound, and human emotion. My artistic journey began with music as a guitarist, composer, and producer, then expanded into performance art and fine art as a way to express the spiritual and psychological depth of human experience. Over the years, I have created and collaborated with various collectives and projects such as Pecel Pincuk, Sasenigya, Rogone Mbah Bejo, DSGR, JaranGoiank, Wayang Pulau, and KaliYouga. As a performer, I reinterpret traditional Javanese forms like Jaranan and Wayang into contemporary contexts, merging sacred energy with modern experimentation. As a visual artist, I work with installations, video, and mixed media to reflect my ongoing dialogue between sound, body, image, and myth. For me, art is not only a form of expression but also a ritual, a philosophy, and a rebellion; through W.K.Y.P. Project, I aim to build a living archive of this exploration—a space where disciplines dissolve and art becomes an experience of transformation.
