Serat Kalatidha

Serat Kalatidha is a Javanese literary work written by Ranggawarsita (a famous 19th-century poet from Surakarta). The title means “The Time of Darkness” or “The Age of Uncertainty.” In this work, Ranggawarsita reflects on a period of moral and social decline, where truth and justice are fading, and people are confused about right and wrong. It expresses deep concern about the loss of values and the chaos of the times, but also offers a message of wisdom—encouraging patience, inner strength, and faith in facing difficult eras.
